Carrington Parish Council have registered with the Queen's pageant master Bruno Peek (but we don't talk about him) to host a beacon on the recreational field.  We are only one of the four registered in Greater Manchester at the present.   We have invited the Mayor to light it, but just waiting to hear back when the new mayor is in place.

We have been successful in applying for an Arts Council England grant through Forever Manchester and received £8800, that will help fund this event.

No Alcohol

This is a family event, no alcohol will be sold

A footpath is accessible to the event entrance

General ground conditions

The site access is via the community orchard, there are plans to installed accessibility matting for wheelchair users, alternatively the double gated entrance would be a better choice.

The main arena is a recreation field which is normally "Good to Firm" (in horse racing terms) After prolonged rain may be a little soft.  

Wheelchair users

The ground conditions are good, a hard standing area is located at the double gate entrance, accessible toilets will be onsite.

The dietary information will be provided by vendors on sit.

There are no steps on site, but the ground conditions are a little uneven.

Staffing and assistance

There a stewards and members of the event team who are disability aware, some with limited BSL.  If assistance is needed, then stewards are on site to help.

Noise

There will be amplified music throughout the event and category F2 fireworks starting at 21:50





Planning


There is lots of preparation needed to host this event in terms of public safety and legal compliance. 

PRS/PRL have waivered the live and amplified music licence for events specific for the Queen's Jubilee.
